Parking Facilities for Electric Vehicles
Birmingham Airport recognizes the increasing popularity of electric vehicles and the need for convenient charging stations for EV owners. As such, the airport provides multiple electric vehicle charging stations located in the Premium Set Down Car Park 1, which is adjacent to the terminal building.
Pod Point provides EV charging stations and offers both rapid and fast charging options. The rapid chargers provide up to 50 kW of power, which can charge an EV battery up to 80% in just 30 minutes. The fast chargers, on the other hand, provide up to 22 kW of power and can charge an EV battery in a few hours.
You need the Pod Point app or RFID card to use the EV charging stations. The app allows you to start and stop charging, monitor your charging session, and view your charging history. The RFID card, on the other hand, allows you to access the charging stations without the need for an app.
The charging cost depends on the type of charging option you choose and your usage. You can pay through the app or via the Pod Point website using a debit or credit card. The charging stations are available 24/7, ensuring that EV owners can charge their vehicles at any time of the day or night.
Parking Facility for Motorbikes
Birmingham Airport understands the need for convenient and affordable parking options for motorbike owners and, as such, provides dedicated parking facilities for motorbikes. The airport’s official website states that motorbikes can be parked in the Short Stay Car Parks 1 and 2, located within walking distance from the terminal building.
Short Stay Car Parks 1 and 2 are multi-story car parks that provide designated parking spaces for motorbikes. Motorbike owners can park their vehicles in the designated bays on the car park’s ground floor. The parking rates for motorbikes are typically lower than those for cars, which makes it an affordable option for motorbike owners.
It is important to note that motorbikes are not allowed to park in the drop-off and pick-up zones reserved for cars only. Additionally, motorbikes cannot park in the Long Stay Car Park or any other area that is not designated for motorbikes.
